Installing the engine and other bits
Maurice and I worked until after 3am that Monday night, getting the radiator and
cooling pipes mounted, transmission linkage, and the engine and gearbox
installed, along with other bits and pieces such as the fuel accumulator and
pipes, etc.
The following morning, Tuesday,
we did a few more hours work, then Maurice had to
return to Galway. I mounted the fuel tank while my
daughter Katie helped out by making sure the suspension bolts were tight...
Also, later that afternoon, my
friend Adrian stopped by for a few
hours, and helped me install all the fuel, brake, clutch and AC lines that run
along the frame. We went into the house a few times to reference a video I had
taken of a DeLorean chassis with everything bolted into place. I didn't get any
pics of Adrian
helping out, but he was a great help, thanks Adrian!!
Adrian
went back to Dublin, and my Dad
arrived from Limerick shortly afterwards. I might have
been short of time, but I was definitely not short of good friends and family
willing to help out!
Here are a few pics of all this work...
